A birdseye view of the Triathlon swim

The Portaferry Triathlon will be taking place this September and is sure to push all entrants to the limit. Why not take part youyrself and experience one of the worlds most spectacular triathlon sea swims with a cycle and run course to match!

 Never mind Alcatraz this is probably one of the Worlds most spectacular Triathlon Sea Swims with a Cycle     and Run course to match.
 
 
Swim 1.3km across the largest and most tidal Sea Lough in Britain and Ireland. Swim cut off time 30 minutes. Swimming wetsuits compulsory.  Swimmers must have completed a 750 metre open water swim in under 16.30 mins  and or a 1500 metre swim in under 34 mins. Swim cut off time 30 mins.  Athletes will be transported by Ferry to race start.

Cycle  45km, 4 laps of a 11.25 km sporting, anti clockwise circut Shore Rd, Barrhall Rd, Ballyquinton Rd, Ballyfonder Rd, then up Windmill hill returning to Shore Rd via Steel Dickson Ave.  Approved Cycle Helmets are compulsory.  Modern Road or Triathlon bikes only.

Run  A 10km 1 lap run taking in Mountain Rd and the Loughshore Rd with spectacular views of Strangford Lough and the Mourne Mountains.

The Course is challenging but rewarding and has been planned by World, European and Irish Champion Ahletes for Aathletes.
