Tidal Turbine in Strangford lough
The worlds first tidal turbine is being installed in Strangford Lough. Come and watch the progress. 
Marine Current Turbines (MCT) said the installation of its SeaGen commercial energy system at the mouth of Strangford Lough will begin in August 07.
The lough has one of the fastest tidal flows in th world and will help the turbine to produce electricity for about 1,000 homes in the area.
Tidal energy is sustainable and environmentally friendly and its success in Strangford should encourage more tidal turbines throughout the UK and beyond.
